Former Arsenal star Hans Jurgen Stefan Schwarz is in Ghana to support juvenile sports.
While in the country, he will be visiting a yet- to-be-completed boxing cum soccer juvenile academy located at Kokrobite, near Accra.
The ex-Sweden international on his return, is expected to facilitate the acquisition of sports equipment from kit manufacturing giants like Adidas, Nike etc for the academy.
An instructor at the Academy, who pleaded anonymity, said in an interview “This is a welcoming news, and it will help this academy a great deal in terms of logistics. His suggestions during the facility visit, no doubt, will play a role as we put finishing touches to the structure.”
Born on April 18, 1969, the ex Sunderland midfielder has also featured for clubs like Benfica, Italian outfit, Fiorentina, Velencia, Bundesliga side Bayer Liverkusen, Malmo FF from the mid 80’s to 2001.
He hit the back of the net six times for the Swedish national side.
The academy primarily seeks to nurture young sporting talents to feed the various national soccer and boxing teams.
