Ex-Hearts of Oak PRO Albert Commey stands firm on match-fixing claims, denies retraction letter

Former Hearts of Oak Public Relations Officer, Albert Commey, insists he will maintain his stance on the alleged match-fixing between Hearts of Oak and RTU.

Albert Commey had previously accused the club of playing a fixed match, but a subsequent letter attributed to him claimed he was ill when he made those statements.

In a recent interview on the Ernest Brew Smith Show on YouTube, Commey denied any knowledge of the letter and reaffirmed his allegations.

"In Ghana football, normally when you are approaching the end of the season, I am not for fixing matches. All over the world, it happens.

"The reason I said that the RTU vs Hearts match was fixed is because, if you look at the Hearts vs Bechem knockout final, the same players who played, what happened? They beat Bechem," he said.

"Hearts vs RTU, I am not saying RTU can't beat Hearts. And I am not saying Hearts can't beat RTU, but people were saying it is true I was sick, but it didn't affect my brain. If you want to help the game, say the truth. To me, I know that they weren't happy."

"Letter or no letter, the person who wrote the letter knows himself. What I want to say is that I know what I said. Not that today I am sick; if I am well, I will tell you the same thing."
