Ex-goalie Ali Jaraah fumes at Richard Kingson Ghana snub

Ex-Ghana youth goalkeeper Ali Jaraah is unhappy with Richard Kingson’s exclusion from the Black Stars squad to face Sudan next month.

Kingson was sacrificed for his club inactiveness- his first omission from a Ghana squad in six years.

Norwegian-born goalkeeper Adams Larsen Kwarasey has toppled the two-time Fifa World Cup hero as Ghana’s number one.

Kingson has been training with his former English Premier League side Wigan after struggling to join a new club since leaving Blackpool.

Jaraah, a member Ghana 1993 Fifa Under-17 silver medal winning team, insists Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic had it wrong.

“I think that Richard (Kingson) has helped the Nation a lot and believe we should rather help him than to treat him like that,” Jaraah told Accra-based Choice FM.

“We must offer the same help we gave to former captain Stephen Appiah when he was in a difficult situation rather than just drop him at a time that he was looking for a club.

“Let us be fair to all because he had also played a major role in our resurgence on the continent over the past five or so years.”

All Africa Games gold medal winning goalkeeper Daniel Adjei replaced the long-standing shot-stopper.
