Footy-ghana.com can exclusively confirm that Olympique Marseille duo Andre and Jordan Ayew will not honour an invitation to play for the Black Stars against Sudan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Kumasi in the next couple of weeks.
Following the decision of the two brothers to temporarily quit the Black Stars, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) wrote back to them, rejecting the decision and asking them to make themselves available.
Footy-ghana.com understands that the two brothers have since written back to the GFA, stating that they are standing by their decision to quit the Black Stars.
According to our well-placed sources, Jordan Ayew, in his letter to the GFA, assured the football governing body that he would make himself available for future Black Stars assignments but not this one against Sudan.
Andre Ayew also wrote to the GFA stating that he is not fully recovered psychologically to play for the Black Stars yet.
Both players have been included in Kwasi Appiah’s squad to face Sudan, but the latest twist would see the Black Stars technical bench scouring for replacements.
