Executives of SWAG calls on MTN

The Executives of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) on Friday, paid a courtesy call on the Corporate Services Executive of the nation’s leading telecommunications company, MTN-Ghana.

The visit, which forms part of activities towards the successful organization of the 37th Edition of the MTN-SWAG Awards Night, was led by Ackah Anthony, President, Ben Ohene Aryeh, Vice President, William Dodzi Ezah, General Secretary, Veronica Commey, Treasurer, Mathias Tibu, Executive Member and Nii Maale Adsei, Events Coordinator.

Mr Anthony expressed appreciation to the company for being a faithful partner of the Association over the last two years.

He said the Association will ensure that the MTN-SWAG Awards, one of the longest sports event in the country, is improved each year, adding that, the 37th Edition fixed for June 9, at the Banquet Hall State House-Accra, will be no exception.

Mr Anthony noted that, plans are in place to introduce some exciting innovations to this year’s event and assured officials of the company that, they will not regret partnering the Association again to organise an eventful feat for recognizing sports prowess in the country.

Mrs Cynthia Lumor, Head of Corporate Service Executive of MTN, commended the Association for the successful relationship with her outfit.

She indicated that the relationship between the two parties have been symbiotic as each of them has had adequate benefits.

Mrs Lumor said that, her outfit will once again support the Association to stage another historic event.

Mrs Gina Asare-Fiagbenu, Senior Manager, Corporate Services Executive, said, even though the Association has over the years' organized very successful events, more innovations must be introduced for the 37th Edition.

“There is the need for SWAG to be more innovative in the organization of the event. You must introduce more innovations that will keep the event in the memories of patrons on the night”. Mrs Asare Fiagbenu noted.

The event is expected to be graced by Mr Gianni Merlo, President of the Association of International Press for Sports (AIPS), the Minister of Youth and Sports Clement Kofi Humado and other high profile sports personalities and other dignitaries.**
