Goodwill Sports Ambassador and patron of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Ray Quarcoo believes foreign coaches are better options for the Black stars job compared to the local ones.
According to him, the expatriates take their job more seriously than the local coaches.
“I have heard several arguments why foreign coaches are more preferable than their local counterparts but the most annoying one is that, most soccer administrators on the continent believe that expatriate coaches are better than the local ones; and that the reality on the ground is that, most people following the game of football in Africa have noticed that foreign coaches seem to be more disciplined and serious in their activities than those on the continent when it comes to the national team job.” He told Graphiconline.com.
A six member committee has been set up by the Ghana Football Association to search for a new Black Stars coach following the departure of Avram Grant.
There has been mixed reactions as to whether a local coach or foreigner should be handed the job.
