FA Bans Two Referees For Bad Officiating

The Ghana Football Association has handed a year’s ban on two premier league referees for bad officiating in certain league matches they handled. The sanctions comes after the FA accepted the findings of a Disciplinary Committee, which recommended that the two officials be sanctioned for their inefficient performance.

Those affected are referee McCarthy, who handled the first round league game between Asante Kotoko and GHAPOHA FC at the Kuamsi Sports Stadium. Referee McCarthy was sanctioned after poor officiating and disallowing a goal by GHAPOHA FC.

Also slapped with a years ban is referee C.A. Amevor, who officiated the Accra Hearts of Oak match against Liberty Professionals.

Amevor, in that match awarded Hearts of Oak a goal after a Liberty Professionals defender cleared a bound goal shot away.

The ban on the two referees takes immediate effect from the day of the match.
