Outgoing Premier League Board chief Welbeck Abra-Appiah is pushing for the appointment of FA Cup and PLB chairmen onto the powerful Executive Committee of the Ghana FA.

There have been widespread calls for the Premier League Board to be granted autonomy status to enable the outfit make decisions pertaining to the top-flight.

The PLB is currently a sub-committee under the GFA and is unable to make independent decisions, unlike the English and South African league bodies which are autonomous.

But long-standing PLB boss Welbeck Abra-Appiah is preaching a different approach in bridging the gap.

“The PLB Chairman and the FA Cup Chairman should be adopted into the Executive Committee to give them an opportunity to address the entire Executive Committee anytime there is an issue. It is so important that it is just like being autonomous,” he told Accra-based Starr FM

“So,the autonomous status should not necessarily come now.”
