FIFA World Cup Trophy en route to Ghana

Accra, Oct. 8, GNA - The Federation of International Football Association's (FIFA) World Cup Trophy will hit Accra, on Wednesday, October 14.

The trophy which is currently touring the continent is at Guinea and will from there move to Senegal then to Liberia and arrive in Burkina Faso on Tuesday, October 13, before coming to Ghana on Wednesday. On arrival in the country the trophy will be sent to the Osu Castle, the seat of government on Thursday, October 15, for VVIP viewing. The trophy will then be displayed at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Friday, October 16, for public viewing. Mr Anthony Chinebuah, Operations and Marketing Officer of Coca-Cola Ghana, organisers of the tour said it is aimed at offering soccer fans the opportunity to have a life time experience with the football's biggest event.

"It is the fans who make the game we all love so much, by ensuring football is complete hence, my outfit's decision to bring it closer to the most passionate fans," added Mr Chinebuah. Mr Chinebuah noted that interested persons wanting to catch a glimpse of the trophy could acquire tickets by monitoring the press for details.
