FIFA okay with government handling of GFA matters

The much-anticipated meeting between government and FIFA over the Football debacle in the country went well yesterday, government has disclosed.

In a communique issued after the said meeting indicated that both parties [FIFA and Ghanaian government] clearly have zero tolerance for corruption, criminality and all other forms of illegality.

According to the statement, FIFA agrees with the new order in the football circles within the country,as well as the intervention made by government to salvage the game in the country following the Anas video.

“The government of Ghana has the right to enforce its national laws against criminal conduct and illegality,” the joint statement said.

Meanwhile, FIFA in consultation with Ghanaian government will put in place interim measures that will allow for the continuation of football in Ghana.

“The Ghana government delegation will continue discussions with FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, for the purpose of finalising interim arrangements regarding football in Ghana.” the statement said.
