Faisal beaten at home

King Faisal suffered 0-2 first home defeat in the hands of Gomoa-Fetteh Feyenoord in their match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Playing minus their key defender Illiasu Alhassan, Faisal could not hold the slippery and strong attackers of Feyenoord who scored the first goal in the 33rd-minute from skipper Sherif Danlarbi's penalty kick.

The goal inspired Feyenoord and piled pressure on the homesters and scored their second goal in the 42nd-minute through Jordan Opoku in a goalmouth melee. During the second half, it was still the visitors who continued to mount series of attacks on Faisal forcing them to commit unpardonable mistakes and chasing their shadows.

Sensing danger, Faisal brought on Eric Adu Poku for Edmund Owusu-Peprah in the 48th-minute but this did not change the trend of the game as Feyenoord continue to dominate play. Faisal, however, had a chance in the 53rd-minute but a shot from Ben Wilson hit the post and bounced into play. Feyenood's coach Sam Arday sent in Mahadi Abubakar for Andrew Ayittey in the 52nd-minute as Eric Gawu of Faisal wasted a chance in the 64th-minute when goalkeeper Philemon MacCharthy saved his shot.

Faisal at this stage playing like wounded lions fought desperately to redeem a goal but all their efforts were thwarted by the defence of Feyenoord built around skipper Dan Larbi.
