Faisal pip Arsenal in Premier League match

Kumasi, Jan. 16, GNA - Kumasi-based King Faisal played an outstanding game to beat Berekum Arsenal 1-0 in their 18th Week Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Faisal who outplayed the visitors right from the onset of the game had to wait until the match was in added on time, (94th) before they could break the deadlock through substitute Emmanuel Odoi who headed home a corner kick from Augustine Sixtus.

Both teams wasted lots of chances in the first half with Faisal being the worst offenders.

Prince Arko wasted a chance in the second minute with Ofosu Micky also following up with wasting two chances in the eighth and 20th minutes. The visitors, however, occasionally lifted up their game but they coul= d not translate the opportunities that came their way into goals. On resumption of the second half, it was Faisal who continued to have the upper hand as they created many scoring chances but goalkeeper Samuel Otchere was able to save two dangerous attacks and denied Faisal of the leader in the 78th and 85th minutes with perfect saves.

Arsenal made last minute onslaught and laid siege on the home side but the defence of Faisal stood gallantly until tide change in their favour for them to find the net when the match was almost ending in a stalemate.
