Faisal sound big intent ahead of Liberty opener

It will be a familiar setting for King Faisal following their return to the Glo Premier League as they prepare for the big kick-off on Saturday against Liberty Professionals.

After a season's stint in the Division One ranks, Faisal are well aware of the demands of the elite division.

For the Kumasi-based side, their start of the new season will pitch them away from home when they made the journey to Accra to face Liberty at the Carl Reindorf Park in a 15:00GMT (3:00pm) kick off match.

Either side will be gunning for an opening win but the pressure will be on King Faisal to get off to a good start and sound their intent.

King Faisal Chairman, Alhaji Karim Grunzah following their relegation two season's ago after a 15-year stay in the first tier division promised to "fight and return to the premier league."

With promotion secured and ahead of their opening fixture, the firebrand says his side are capable of marching any side in the league.

“I am very confident the team we have can go to Africa because no team is extraordinary in the league. If you play well you can win the league and I do not see why we can’t do that. All the other clubs who have won the league bought ordinary players but yet they managed to win it,” he said.

Liberty face an uphill task against Faisal but they will be equally determined to get their campaign off to a good start.
