Fans haven't seen the best of me - Atsu

Ghana midfielder Christian Atsu has admitted he is experiencing a difficult start of the season with Everton after playing a meager number of games for the London-based club after his loan move from Chelsea.

“It’s been quite difficult since I came here but I believe things will be okay and go well,” Atsu told the club’s official website. “I’m working hard for the team and I believe the fans haven’t seen the best of me yet and I know everything depends on the player [me].”

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed he will name several fringe players in his side against Kuban Krasnodor in the Europa League Thursday evening at the Goodison Park having secured the top spot in Group H after beating Wolfsburg 2-0 in Germany.

The Spanish trainer is expected to start Joel Robles, Christian Atsu, Steven Pienaar, Arouna Kone, Bryan Oviedo, Conor McAleny, Antolin Alcaraz, Tyias Browning and Luke Garbutt along with two unnamed youngsters and the Ghanaian has vowed to put up his best performance to help the team win the game if handed a starting role.

“I don’t know if I will start [on Thursday ] but , if I do, I will give my best to the team and fans. I will make sure I will be at my best to help the team win.”

Atsu has played three games in the English Premier League and four Europa League games with 70 minutes and 80 minutes under his belt respectively this season.
