Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has signed a season-long contract extension with Ashanti Gold after guiding them to win the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League.

The 30-year-old joined the Miners last season after mutually terminating his contract with South Africa's Premier Soccer League side Chippa United.

Chief executive officer of Ashantigold, Kudjo Fianoo, has lauded the shot-stopper's decision, insisting that he will be an integral part in the club's bid to defend the local league title and participate in the Caf Champions League.

“Dauda has signed a new contract after negotiations,” Fianoo told Nhyira FM.

“He will continue to serve us with everything he has got in the league and the Caf Champions League. The club is very delighted with his decision because we are already aware of his quality and loyalty,” he added.

Goal understands that Robert Dabou, second choice goalkeeper for Ashantigold, has also signed a three-year contract extension after joining in 2013 from Wa All Stars.

Ashantigold have completed the signings of Dauda Mohammed, Isaac Amoah, Hudu Yakubu, Nuhu Fuseini and Alhassan Fuseini ahead of the upcoming season.
