Gaziantepspor’s defensive midfielder Mohammed Fatau has challenged the Black Stars to be dedicated, determined, and above all united ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be staged in Gabon.

Speaking in an interview, the 24-year-old midfielder said, “As a footballer and a Ghanaian I wish the team well going into the AFCON and I believe with dedication, determination, and unity, the team can come home with the trophy.”

According to the former Granada and Rayo Vallecano midfielder, he is not disturbed despite being excluded from Coach Avram Grant’s provisional squad for the AFCON 2017.

“I don’t think it’s a big problem for me that my name didn’t pop up, although I think I had a very good season which merited a call up. I’m very confident that my time will soon come,” Mohammed Fatau reckoned.

He, however, added that he’s ever ready to add his quota to the national team anytime he would be called upon.

The Black Stars paired in Group D alongside; Mali, Uganda, and Egypt will play it matches at the newly constructed 25,000 capacity Stade de Port-Gentil.
