Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is least bothered about his recent bench role with the Black Stars, insisting the collective interest of the team is paramount than personal ambition.

The 28-year-old has lost his position to Stephen Adams following a turbulent time in South Africa where he featured for Orlando Pirates and Chippa United.

The Ashantigold glovesman seems to have lost the confidence which made him leapfrog Adam Kwarasey for the number one position.

But after seeing his chances dwindled in recent international matches for the Africans, the former Okwahu United shot-stopper says he is not worried about his bench role.

“What I never do is to question the capability and integrity of any coach as the power to select players for matches lies solely with them. I am ever ready to give my best for the nation at any time.”

“Ghana first is the anthem so I was more concerned with the team winning in Ghana than to who mans the post.”

“Everyone in the team has to do away with selfishness and give the technical team the encouragement to select the right players for every match.”

“What is left now is for us to return to our various clubs and make sure that we are active and see what happens, but I am happy we won.”

Dauda has rejoined Ashantigold to revive his career after a difficult spell in South Africa.
