Italian outfit Fiorentina has announced the departure of Ghana international Joseph Alfred Duncan, ending his four-year spell at the club.

The 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder leaves the club following the expiration of his contract. He joined Fiorentina in August 2020.

After the expiration of his contract, both parties have agreed to part ways.

The former Black Stars midfielder is expected to find a new club during the ongoing summer transfer window.

Duncan made 126 appearances for the club and scored six goals across competitions during his four-year stay.

In the recently concluded season, Duncan scored two goals and provided five assists in 41 matches across all competitions.

He played a significant role in helping Fiorentina reach the finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League but fell short to Olympiacos, the eventual winners.

The midfielder has spent almost his entire playing career in Italy, featuring for the Inter Milan youth team, Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, and Cagliari.

He has already retired from his international career. He made 10 appearances for the Black Stars since making his debut in November 2012.
