Fiorentina sign Amidu Salifu

Italian Serie A side Fiorentina have signed Ghana youth international Amidu Salifu for three years for 2.4 million euros.

The 18-year-old makes a shock move from Serie B side Vicenza where he has played only two matches this season.

Salifu has impressed the Fiorentina technical team headed by Sinisa Mihajlovic to increase the stock of potentials at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The talented midfielder attracted attention when he scored in Vicenza’s 3-1 defeat at Genoa in the Coppa Italia last month.

“He had few problems with his registration but when he was cleared, he won best player awards. Salifu deserves the move and I have no doubts he can survive at a big club like Fiorentina,” the player’s agent Oliver Arthur told GHANAsoccernet.com

Amidu played in the final qualifier that earned a place at next year’s African Youth Championship in Libya.
