Fit Square Gym dominates Boxing League

Accra, April 8, GNA - Fit Square Gym emerged the dominant force during the second week of the third edition of the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing League.

The Kokomlemle-based Gym saw their boxers emerge victors in all the categories they contested in at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments last Friday.

Daniel Amarteifio outclassed Wisdom Gym's Fred Tetteh in the Lightweight division just as Emmanuel Quartey replicated a similar feat on George Krampah of Bronx Gym in the Bantamweight category. Samuel Addo also accounted for Richard Quartey of Black Panthers Gym in the Flyweight division.

In other bouts, Offei Doodo, a member of Greater Accra Amateur Boxing team that hosted their counterparts from the Haringey Boxing Club of the United Kingdom in an international tournament last February defeated Odoi Yemefio of De-Oak gym in a lightweight contest. Emmanuel Quaye of Wisdom Gym overcame Attoh Quarshie's Francis Aryee, while Abu Iddrisu of Rangers Gym beat Yaya Afra Sackey of the Sagacious Gym, both in the Light welterweight division. In the welterweight class, Joseph Lamptey of Sonia Gym emerged victorious over Andy Dodoo of CAN Gym, and Iddrisu Issaka ensured Ashaiman Gym went home with a point by outclassing Jones Ebu of Rangers Gym in their middleweight encounter.

Finally, Jah Bless Gym's Maxwell Amponsah beat Michael Osunla of Black Panthers in the Light heavyweight division. Meanwhile, the GAABA league enters the third week on Friday, April with interesting pairings. The league is being organized by the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) to unearth talents.
