Fit-again Vorsah refuses to give up on World Cup dream

Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah has thrown himself into contention for a spot in coach Kwesi Appiah’s team for the 2014 World Cup after he declared his return to full fitness.

The Red Bull Salzburg player tore an anterior crucial ligament in his knee in May last year during a Cup match and has been slow in his recovery.

He was expected to be fit before the start of the season but the centre-back is yet to kick a ball.

But Vorsah claims he is okay now and could earn some game time before the end of the season.

“It’s been good. I’ve obviously had a few knocks here and there but gradually I am getting fit and returning to playing regularly for my club and country,” he said.

“I’ve tried to focus on being ready for the World Cup and that’s been the main thing really. I know I have been out for long but thankfully it’s all over for me”.

“I will come back pretty much fit, if I’m being honest.’’

Vorsah was a member of the Black Stars team which reached the last eight of the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
