Foreign-based Players To Train With Black Stars

The national football team, the Black Stars will begin training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, June 25 under new coach, Milan Zivadinovic. Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Ben Koufie says the coach has drawn up a training schedule for the team, beginning with the foreign-based players, who are on holidays in the country, and selected local players.

Addressing the foreign-based players in Accra, Mr. Koufie said age would not be a criterion for selection into the team. Current form and commitment to duty will be the major basis for choosing players who would redeem the sinking image of the Ghanaian game.

He said coach Zivadinovic has indicated his intention to work with all good players the nation has and any player who features for his club in Europe would be considered because he should be playing well to merit selection.

Some of the players who attended the meeting, including Yaw Preko, Ohene Kennedy (in PIC) and Emmanuel Duah criticised some of the FA?s decisions such as the policy on kits, training facilities, winning bonuses and player selection.
