Foreign-based trio joins Ghana U-20 camp

Ghana U-20 coach Sellas Tetteh and his team have been holding training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the 2015 Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

So far, 24 players out of the 35-man provisional squad called up have reported to camp, including Emmanuel Ntim of Valenciennes in France, Osei Barnes of Paios Ferriera in Portugal and Yaw Yeboah of Manchester City, who are the only foreign-based players in the group at the moment.

Yeboah was a member of Ghana team at the 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal, winning the tournament’s best player award.

Tetteh says he is looking forward to a full house before the team departs for a four-nation tournament in Australia next week, which will serve as final groundwork ahead of the U-20 World Cup commencing on May 30.

“We have three professionals in the group now. We are still working very hard to bring all of them here, so that we can complete assessment and draw our final list,” Tetteh told reporters in Accra.

Ghana, who won the 2009 edition, will face Argentina, Panama and Austria in Group B.
