On a rain soaked morning, the former Accra Basketball League (ABL) Chairman Benjamin Baafi has been laid to rest today following his demise on March 1 at his residence in Gbawe, a suburb in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Popularly known as “Capito” the deceased’s body was taken to the Lebanon House Court in Tudu for the last time before it is moved to the Theodosia Okoe Hockey Pitch for the final funeral rites to be observed.

The funeral has attracted a host of players (current and retired), Ghana Revenue Authority workers and Security Service personnel.

Among veteran players present at the funeral are Emmanuel “Ghaanar” Wobil, Emmanuel “Rubberman” Quaye and Alex Kukula.

Executives of the ABL including Vice Chairman Kofi Amanyor, Anthony Adjorh, Lawal Brimah and Alexander Tindani are also present at the solemn event.

A series of games were played at the Lebanon House on Friday in the legendary figure’s honor. Baafi passed away aged 54 having served as Greater Accra Basketball Association Chairman and Manager for Ghana’s National Male Basketball Team.
