Former Hearts captain blast club

Former Hearts of Oak captain Moro Abubakar has launched a stinging pot shot at the club’s management accusing them of forcing him out of the club after his injury.

The tough tackling midfielder who can play in defence is settling in well in Serbia after signing for Donji Srem.

Abubakar was one of the stands out performers for the Phobians last term.

He says he was literally driven out of the club when his contract expired.

“I was really hurt by the treatment I got after I got injured,” Abubakar said.

“Can you believe that Togbe called me to ask me if I could still play for the club the next season? I took it in good fate but I got that from others and it became a worrying trend.

“But I did not blame those who were calling to ask of my ability to play for Hearts next season, because their questions were informed by what they had also heard from some members of the technical team and the Management.

“This kind of treatment kills dreams of players who have genuine interest in helping the club.

“Now I have a new challenge and I am happy to be settling in well.”
