Cape Coast, April 3, GNA - Albert Arthur alias Aldoray, Ghana's former heavyweight champion died at the Central Regional Hospital, Cape Coast on Monday after a protracted illness.
Aldoray, 62, who was a senior boxing coach at the Regional offices of the National Sports Council, Cape Coast in his hey days featured prominently in the 1970's for the national boxing team the Black Bombers before he turned professional and became the country's heavyweight champion after he wrestled the title from Ekow Kranie. According to a family spokesman, the late boxer will be buried at Asokyeano on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
