Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Chairman Yaw Bawuah has joined the tall list of top personalities who have expressed shock over the club's tragic accident which occurred last Wednesday.

In a statement signed by the former chief of the club on behalf of the management of the early 1980s, he wished the players a speedy recovery and called on the team to accept their heartfelt condolences.

"On the behalf of my management (81-85) and on my own behalf, please accept our heartfelt sympathies at this time.

"It was with total shock that we received news of the tragedy that has befallen our great club," the statement read.

"We pray that the almighty strengthens and comforts you in these trying times. We wish the entire Asante Kotoko Family speedy recovery. We will continue to pray for the team," it added.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered the tragic accident on their way to Kumasi from Accra after their Ghana Premier League clash with Inter Allies on Wednesday.

The deputy equipment officer of the club died through the accident which left several others including the head coach of the club injured.
