Argentinian football superstar and head coach of C.A. Independiente Carlos Tevez has been hospitalised, the club has confirmed.
Independiente, in a statement, stated that the former Manchester United and Manchester City star complained of 'chest pains' and was rushed to a hospital in Buenos Aires on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The statement further noted that the tests carried out by doctors at the hospital were "satisfactory", adding that the ex-Juventus striker would be admitted as a precaution.
"Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain. They carried out the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory. They will continue with a series of exams scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up that is usually carried out," the club wrote.
"Carlos Tevez will be hospitalized as a precaution until the corresponding studies are completed."
Carlos Tevez who had an illustrious career, playing for notable clubs like West Ham United, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Boca Juniors announced his retirement in 2021.
The 40-year-old began his coaching career a year after retirement, taking up a coaching role at Rosario Central before joining Independiente in 2023.
