Former Zamalek striker Ben Acheampong is seeking a return to Egyptian football, months after being jailed three-years in absentia by a court in the North African country, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.
The former Asante Kotoko was reportedly handed the punishment following breaches in his contract with his agent.
FIFA rejected a compensation complaint of $200,000 from the Ghanaian against Zamalek after the Egyptian side terminated his contract for non-performance in July 2018.
But his Egyptian agent Wael Al-Kharbtawi has been so far been unable to negotiate a deal for him despite offers from some clubs in the North African country, Albidda.net has reported.
Acheampong joined Zamalek in 2017 from El-Dakhleya Club but his stay was short-lived after he failed to prove himself with the Whites Knights.
The Ghanaian is i the hunt for a new club after ending his contract with Qatari side Al-Shamal SC.
