Asante Kotoko has officially parted ways with 11 players following a disastrous 2024/2023 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors have begun a squad overhaul to revamp their team in hopes of a better campaign next season.

The Reds, who are the most successful club in Ghana, finished 6th with 49 points, achieving 14 wins and suffering a staggering 13 defeats.

This abysmal performance has led to the club releasing 11 players who had little or no impact on the team.

GhanaWeb has identified five players from the list who are expected to be in high demand in the transfer market due to their quality.

Danlad Ibrahim

Danlad Ibrahim, 21, is rated as one of the best young goalkeepers in Ghana. His progression with the national team from the U-17 to the Black Stars has elevated him above many other local goalkeepers.

Signing Danlad on a free transfer would be a coup for many clubs.

George Mfegue

Cameroon forward George Mfegue established himself as one of the top attackers in the GPL during his first two seasons at Kotoko.

However, he could not secure game time in his third season under Prosper Ogum.

Mfegue won the league in his first season at Kotoko and was considered one of the best forwards that season.

Isaac Oppong

Isaac Oppong is one of the highly-rated wingers in the Ghana Premier League. However, his talent has been overshadowed by persistent injuries.

He has struggled to remain injury-free in the last two seasons since his exceptional run for Kotoko in his first season, which helped them win the league.

Augustine Agyapong

Augustine Agyapong is one of the top U-23 right-backs in the Ghana Premier League. He spent two seasons with Asante Kotoko.

During his tenure with the Reds, he played for the Black Galaxies - the local Black Stars - and the Ghana U-20.

He demonstrated remarkable qualities during his good run until he was sidelined in the just-ended season.
