Four most outstanding players in Kotoko vs Hearts stalemate

It was tensed game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday as Asante Kotoko hosted Hearts of Oak, the game ended 1-1.

The game was supposed to be played two weeks ago, but due to Kotoko’s accident on the Nkawkaw road it was passionately called off.

Judging from the output of the players on the field, the result was a true reflection of the tie.

However, after the game, Ghana Crusader selected the four most outstanding players in the game – two from each team. The players are, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Awal Mohammed from Kotoko and Winful Cobbinah and Leonard Tawiah from Hearts of Oak.

Emmanuel Gyamfi

He was superb in the game, his presence in the game caused a lot of problems for Hearts of Oak defenders. Due to Gyamfi, Thomas Abbey couldn’t burst forward. After the game he was named man-of-the-match.

Awal Mohammed

Pillar of the Kotoko defense, his interceptions, ability to start attack from the back and very powerful in the air helped Kotoko a lot, though Kotoko conceded a goal but Awal was brilliant.

Winful Cobbinah

He had a tough afternoon in the first half, but found his rhythm in the second half. Cobbinah orchestrated Hearts of Oak’s first goal, he took the ball from the middle dribbled four Kotoko players and he sent Fatau Mohammed through, the latter swept in a neat cross for Kwame Kizito who brilliantly hit the ball past Felix Annan. Kotoko midfielders had it difficult in handling Cobbinah.

Leonard Tawiah

Tawiah did all the dirty works in the midfield for the Phobians. His hard work in the middle of the pitch freed Winful Cobbinah who tormented Kotoko midfielders.

It was unfortunate that he conceded a controversially penalty which aided Kotoko to pull even.
