Ghana Football Association Ghana Football Association

Challenged Francis Dogbatse is set to take office as the Chairman of the Volta Region Football Association, as Kennedy Gbloekpor of Robert FC of Sokpe decides to discontinue the suit he filed against the GFA and the Volta Region RFA Chairman-elect.

Gbloekpor Robert had filed a suit against Francis Dogbatse and the Ghana FA over issues of the Regional FA Elections.

Francis Dogbatse was hence barred from taking the oath of office when all the newly elected executives of the Ghana FA were sworn into office by a representative of the Supreme Court.

Kennedy Gbloekpor, the Plaintiff filed at the Registry of the High Court a Notice of Discontinuance to end the case barely two weeks ago.

Mr Gbloekpor informed the court that “please take notice that the Plaintiff has on this day discontinued this action wholly.”

As a result, the case between Kennedy Gbloekpor on one side and the GFA and Francis Dogbatse on the other side has been discontinued.

This means that the President of the Ghana Football Association will be expected to swear Francis Dogbatse into office for a four-year term.

The GFA President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, is expected to swear him for a four-year term.
