Frimpong seeks new loan spell

Emmanuel Frimpong has told Arsenal he wants to go on loan again to speed up his return from a serious knee injury.

The 20-year-old has spent the past seven months on the sidelines after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while playing on-loan for Wolves in a Premier League match against QPR in February.

Now on the comeback trail, Frimpong has been turning out for the club's Under-21s in recent weeks, and is expected to play some part in the Capital One Cup clash with Reading on Tuesday, where it is anticipated that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will give his second string a run out.

However, the tough-tackling midfielder is hoping Wenger will sanction another spell away from the Emirates Stadium as a way of boosting his fitness.

He admitted he isn't yet ready to make a return to the first team fold, and is wary of over exerting himself as he enters the last leg of his recuperation.

"I still don't think I am 100 percent right," he told the Daily Mirror.

"I don't want to push myself if I'm not ready - I don't think I am ready for the Arsenal first team yet."
