Black Stars forward, Mohammed Kudus, delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech after winning the Footballer of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards.

The West Ham United star began by thanking the audience for attending the event at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

He also praised the organizers for putting together an amazing event that made the experience worthwhile.

Kudus then credited his hard work over the past year for the award and expressed gratitude to his teammates and family for their support.

"I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to attend these amazing awards. I also want to express my gratitude to everyone who worked hard to make this award show happen today. I am thrilled to be named Player of the Year. This award is a testament to my hard work and the support from my teammates and family."

He then invited Fatawu Issahaku, who was nominated in the same category, to join him on stage and praised the 19-year-old for his achievements at Leicester last season.

"Before I continue, I would like to invite Fatawu Issahaku to join me here.

"I want to thank Fatawu for supporting me. As part of the new generation, my goal is to promote unity and love among us. Our competition was healthy, and he pushed me a lot this season, just as I pushed him. I have already told him this, but I want to publicly express how proud I am of his progress and achievements this season at Leicester. He motivates me, and I hope he inspires all upcoming players."

The 23-year-old concluded by expressing gratitude to the legends who paved the way for him and his peers, promising to create an even greater legacy for the next generation.

"There are many legends here; I can't name them all, but their past accomplishments have paved the way for us, the younger generation. Our duty is to make the path even clearer for the upcoming players and pass the torch. Thank you all. Have a great evening."

The Footballer of the Year Award was his second award of the night, as he also won the Goal of the Year Award for his goal against Freiburg.

The West Ham United player had an outstanding in his debut season, scoring 14 goals and providing 6 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

He became the second player to win the Footballer of the Year award twice, following Thomas Partey.
