GFA Elections: Don’t be influenced by money – Frank Nelson

Frank Nelson Frank Nelson

A former Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association, Frank Nelson has advised delegates not to be influenced with money to vote for aspirants in the upcoming GFA elections.

According to the Hearts of Oak board member, delegates must desist from demanding money or favour from aspirants before voting for them.

“It’s a human institution but it is bad for anyone to go for an election and expect that candidates will give them money to vote for them,” Frank Nelson said in an interview.

He added, “anyone who is caught in such a situation, whether you were not disqualified before, should be disqualified instantly. Football is not about money and it should not be tolerated.”

“We want to put things in place so that the younger generation will have good things to say that this is a clean institution. If anybody is caught or heard and investigated about bribing any delegate, he or she should be expelled.”

Urging delegates to vote for the right candidate, Nelson said, “If you vote for the wrong person it means you don’t have Ghana at heart, so be free and vote for the right person.”

About 120 delegates are expected to participate in the GFA elections to be held at the College of Physicians & Surgeons in Accra on October 25. They will be expected to elect one person for the presidency and a few others for the Executive Member positions.
