Aspiring president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, has called on his opponents to begin conceding defeat ahead of the elections because he will win overwhelmingly.

The former Vice President of the GFA who happens to be one of the favourites to annex the highest post in Ghana football believes he has enough endorsements and experience to consider himself as the next President of the association.

Afriyie told the media on Friday that, “I have contested the past three GFA elections and I understand the dynamics very well, it’s possible someone may change his decision and I am not saying I will get all the votes but I am calling on my colleagues to begin to concede and to support me so we can chart a new course for Ghana football.”

According to the CEO of Okyeman Planners the fact that 10 Premier League clubs and 20 Division One League Clubs endorsed his forms gives him enough justification that he’s ahead of his compatriots.

Mr. Afriyie averred that although the endorsements can’t be valued as votes, he stated that the clubs signed an affidavit to back their claims of pledging their votes to him, George Afriyie.

He said, “Ten out of the 16 Premier League clubs have endorsed my forms, two clubs have assured that they will endorse but wouldn’t want to disclose it… So go for it and we’ll back you.

“Let me state that endorsement is not votes and it’s true but fortunately for us this time, the endorsement has a second page which is an affidavit of support. There is a red seal which means that we are not only supporting you but we are also affirming our support for you,” Afriyie added.

In addition, he said, “Apart from that 20 out of the 48 Division One clubs have also appended their signatures on my forms, 5 of which we cannot disclose but the rest we can disclose. “

The erstwhile Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee who has been informed by the Dzamefe Commission report to stay away from any activity involving the Black Stars rebutted that his legal team are well briefed with the issue and will assist him resolve it.

The aspiring GFA president will face stiff competition from MTN FA Cup chairman, Kurt Okraku, Tema Youth CEO, Wilfred Osei Palmer, legal practitioner, Amanda Clinton, Phar Rangers CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah and a host of others.
