The Ghana Football Association intends to lodge a complaint with the National Media Commission-NMC against the Chronicle newspaper for allegedly tarnishing the image of the FA and effectively, bringing FIFA’s name into disrepute.

The Chronicle in its lead story today said the GFA lied to FIFA that it had solved the Charles Taylor transfer saga amicably to the satisfaction of all the disputing parties.

The newspaper also said FIFA has denied ever advising the GFA to demand compensation from Charles Taylor as claimed by the FA. GFA general secretary, Kofi Nsiah, told JoyOnline that the Chronicle story is fraught with inconsistencies.

He said the GFA has so far been dealing with the Player Status Legal Services of FIFA, which has exclusive rights to the handling of such matters, and not the Player Status Committee as suggested by the Chronicle.

He argues that FA has conducted its correspondence with FIFA on the Taylor impasse in a most transparent and credible manner.

Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association also added that the FA would respond on the same Charles Taylor saga, after an email correspondence sent by Ibrahim Sannie gave a different twist to the matter.

The FA management team is expected to meet Thursday to deliberate on the latest twist to the matter.
