The Ghana Premier league (GPL) sponsorship deal signed between the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Zylofon Cash is not a secret document, as is being claimed by some observers in the country, Halifax Ansah-Addo, Public Relations officer of Zylofon Cash has said.

According to him, all the sixteen football clubs partaking in the league have copies of the contract documents and are aware of the amount involved, hence the agreement cannot be described as a secret deal.

Zylofon Cash entered into an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with an undisclosed amount.

But the GFA suffered flak from some quarters after the FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi said there was a confidentiality clause in the agreement that does not allow a disclosure of the amount involved.

Speaking on the Ghana Yensom show on Accra 100.5FM hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Friday June 8, Mr Ansah-Addo said: “All the sixteen clubs have seen the contract, they know the content and every word or amount in the contract and so it is surprising that a contract that 16 clubs have seen and read will be described as a secret contact. How do you share a secret contract with 16 clubs? It was a direct contract we signed with them.”

He however, failed to disclose the amount involved saying: “My boss and the GFA did not mention the amount involved and so I do not have the permission to throw the full amount out there.”

“I will need the permission from my boss to do that but all I can tell you is that the contract was not a secret contract, all the clubs have it.”
