The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has begun talks with Dutch-born goalkeeper of Ghanaian descent, Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, to get him to play for Ghana.
Owusu-Oduro, who is the goalkeeper for the Dutch youth team, is closely being monitored by the Ghana FA.
The 19-year-old sensation is gradually gaining grounds at the club level as he has become AZ Alkmaar’s first-choice goalkeeper this season.
He previously represented the Netherlands U-16 and U-21 teams.
With the GFA bent on convincing him to play for Ghana, Owusu-Oduro is torn between switching allegiance to his father's country, Ghana, or sticking with the Dutch national team.
The GFA is actively engaging with Owusu-Oduro’s representatives to explore the possible way to get the goalkeeper, according to information available to GhanaWeb.
