GFA boss in Nigeria for crisis talks with Glo

Footy-ghana.com understands that the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has flown to Nigeria for crisis talks with telecommunications giants, Globacom.

Glo, headline sponsors of the Premier League over the last five seasons, currently owes the GFA about $2.2 million in arrears as per sponsorship revenue and the contract expired at the end of the season this year.

Glo has indicated its preparedness to renew the deal, but on reduced terms, but is yet to settle its indebtedness to the GFA.

Footy-ghana.com can confirm that as of now, the GFA has been unable to secure alternative sponsorship for the Premier League, which led to Nyantakyi’s trip to Nigeria.

Footy-ghana.com understands that Nyantakyi is aiming at convincing Glo to pay up the money owed the GFA, as well as reach a compromise deal regarding renewed sponsorship for the Premier League.
