CAF has appointed the Acting General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Isaac Addo as the General Match Coordinator for the big clash between DR Congo giants TP Mazembe and Algerian debutants MO Bejaia.

This is his second biggest appointment by the continent's governing body after he was appointed as the general coordinator at the recent Africa Nations Championship in Rwanda early this year.

His impressive display during the tournament in Rwanda has resulted in another chance for him to impress in the biggest match of this stage of the Confederation Cup.

The crunch match will take place on Sunday at the Stade de l’Unité Maghrébine (Béjaïa) in Algeria and Addo is expected to oversee all activities at the stadium.

Addo will not be the only Ghanaian in action on the day as Mazembe also have three Ghanaians; Daniel Nii Adjei, Gladson Awako and Solomon Asante in their squad.

The game will see DR Congo giants TP Mazembe face probably their biggest test at the last eight when they play as guests of Algerian debutants MO Bejaia in the Group B Day Three fixture on Sunday.

Victories over Ghana’s Medeama and Young Africans of Tanzania has seen the Lubumbashi-based club rise to the summit of the standings with six points, two more than their host, who are enjoying a good run in their maiden appearance at the continental level.

Mazembe are considered favourites but the impressive home record of Bejaia should serve a big source of concern for coach Hubert Velud and his charges. The Algerians remain unbeaten at their favourite Stade de l’Unité Maghrébine where the likes of Club Africain and Esperance failed to survive.
