Accra, Sept. 28, GNA - Congress, the highest legislative body of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has referred the 2000-2001 audited accounts to the Executive Council.
This was after an emergency meeting on Tuesday, September 28, to discuss the accounts.
The Congress could not take at a definite decision as a result of inconsistencies in the 2000-2001 accounts.
It would be recalled that at the last Congress of the GFA in March this year, the members could not discuss the accounts due the inconsistencies and a letter was sent to the Auditor General for clarifications.
A meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Justice A. K. B. Ampiah, President of Congress, could not discuss the accounts following the failure of the Auditor General to provide the needed clarifications.
A total of 43 members voted in favour of the accounts being forwarded to the Executive Council while nine voted against.
The council would meet on the accounts at a date yet to be fixed by the GFA after which it would be returned to the Congress for a final decision.
