Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has underscored the importance of the Black Stars' recent victories over Mali and the Central African Republic.

Twum stated that the significance of the two wins cannot be overstated.

He highlighted the esteemed return of the team's head coach, Otto Addo, noting the GFA's high regard for him.

Ghana revitalized its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign by securing wins against Mali and CAR on matchdays three and four, respectively.

These victories propelled Ghana to second place in Group I, trailing only Comoros on goal difference.

"The joy of winning these two matches is immeasurable. We have great faith in Otto Addo. He had the chance to work with us initially as an assistant coach and then as a stop-gap coach. We admired his ethics, his level of discipline, and what he brought to the team in terms of respect and knowledge of football," he said.

"When the time came to find a replacement for Chris Hughton, the panel listened to him. We considered his philosophy and what he achieved during his first tenure, and we decided that we needed to bring him back."

Looking ahead, the Black Stars are set to resume their World Cup qualifiers next year, facing Chad and Madagascar in the upcoming fixtures.
