The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced an on-site training program for its elite academy scouts, following the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Knowledge Exchange Program recently held in Ghana.

This initiative comes after Ghana received FIFA's approval to train scouts for talent identification across the nation.

The Scouts' training began with an online training program that addressed the elements scouts should look for when scouting talents and assessing potential in young football players.

Having completed a successful online training, the scouts will next engage in person with FIFA, CAF, and GFA certified scout trainers.

The training program will be led by FIFA's scout expert Laban Scott Libby, CAF Elite Scouts Trainer Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, GFA Elite Academy Manager Joseph Tetteh-Zutah, and GFA Head of Talent Identification Papa Nii Lartey.

The on-site training is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 10, and Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

Twenty-eight scouts from the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West, and Northern Football Regions are expected to attend the training.
