The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has opened up on plans by the body to improve the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence into a world-class facility.

The facility which boasts of natural and artificial pitches plus hostels was constructed with funding from FIFA during the era of former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Know not to be in the best condition, it has now been disclosed that the Kurt Okraku-led football association has decided to give the facility a facelift.

“Kurt Okraku administration is committed to ensuring he improves the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence into a world-class edifice to improve the development of football talents in Ghana”, Henry Asante Twum has confirmed to Accra-based Kingdom FM.

In the last couple of years, several commentaries about the current state of the facility have been all negative. While some say it does not correspond to the amount of money used to build it, others bemoan how poorly it has been managed.

In the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, the GFA has given the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence to the government for use as an isolation center.
