The Ghana Football Association (GFA) would seek to clarify the status of Solomon Asante, who once played for northern neighbours Burkina Faso in a friendly match.
According to a statement from the GFA, the football controlling body would write to the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) to seek clarification on whether he can play for Ghana or not.
Asante, an influential member of Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League campaigners was part of the 30-man squad named by the Black Stars coach James Akwesi Appiah for the two world cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia early next month.**
