GFA stabbed Kwasi Appiah in the back – Kwabena Yeboah

Veteran sports Journalist Kwabena Yeboah has told STARR FM that former coach of the Black Stars, Kwasi Appiah, feels utterly betrayed by the conduct of the Ghana Football Association as far as his dismissal is concerned.

According to Yeboah, the report of Appiah’s dismissal, which was leaked to the media before he was informed, was very disrespectful and showed a clear betrayal of the trust the former Black Stars captain had in the FA.

“He feels very let down, he feels betrayed by the FA because the news was put in the public domain even before the FA invited him to relay the information to him,” Yeboah told STARR Sports Express on Monday.

Appiah, who was not paid his winning bonus for guiding the Black Stars to beat Togo 3-2 in the 2015 Nations Cup qualifier, was sacked a day after he returned to Ghana from Lome with the senior national team.

Yeboah said the FA should have handled the dismissal of Coach Appiah better than they did.

He added that suggestions that Appiah is not competent enough to handle the Black Stars are misplaced, saying the dismissal of Coach Appiah would someway destroy the chances of local coaches in the country.

Former Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac is in the country to take over the senior national team but reports indicate that talks have stalled due to astronomical wage demands by the Serbian.
