GFA to appoint Druvolic as technical director

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is in talks with a Serbian Ljubinko Drulovic to partner Kwesi Appiah as a technical director.

According to sources within the inner circles of the West African country’s football governing body, talks are still fresh and details will be revealed to the indigenous coach when he returns from the United States.

StarrFMOnline is reporting that Drulovic, who is in charge of the Serbian senior national team and a close friend of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, is among three other foreigners the Ghana FA has approached through an appointed agent.

Meanwhile, local media reports are rife that coach Appiah – who took over from Goran Stevanovic in April 2012 – is likely to relinquish his post as Black Stars boss if a foreigner is appointed to aid him.

The Kwesi Nyantakyi-led administration has already extended the former Ghana international’s contract for two years, despite a poor showing at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
