The 2019 President’s cup match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak was honoured Sunday, December 22 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium without television coverage as the stadium was a little over half full.

The fiercely contested match ended successfully with the garden City lads recording a 2-1 win over their arch rivals from the capital.

But the beauty was marred by the post-match press conference which became a tall mountain to climb and a difficult puzzle to solve for all Television stations who went to cover as they were told by the venue media officer at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kotoko’s Kweku Ahenkorah that they cannot film the press conference by order from above, a situation which angered most of the affected stations including the state owned media, GTV and some notable television stations in the Country.

According Mr Ahenkorah, there are new rules and regulations concerning post match press conferences.

He however stated that audio can be recorded while still pictures can also be taken, but it’s a no go area for Television stations to take coverage or to film the press conference.

The statement came as a surprise to most of the Television stations that had no choice but to walk off the press conference in disappointment.
