GNPC praise Black Stars "show" at Tamale

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Headline Sponsor of the Black Stars, is proud of the sterling performance put up by the team in the AFCON 2015 Qualifier return leg encounter with their Guinean counterparts at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Wednesday October 18, 2014.
A Press Release signed by Eric Pwadura Acting Head, Corporate Affairs said “Ahead of the first leg encounter, we at GNPC urged the team to keep rising to the top. And the team lived up to expectations by actually rising to the top of its group table.
“That was a great performance,” Alex Mould, Acting Chief Executive of GNPC said of the team’s victory, adding: “This important victory against the Syli Nationale of Guinea further consolidates your journey towards the Morocco 2015 AFCON tournament, and we are proud of you”.
Mr. Mould further expressed appreciation to the fans and all who contributed towards lifting high the flag of Ghana.
Ghana Blak Stars now have 8 points from two wins and two draws and they lead the tough group which has countries like Guinea, Togo and Sudan.
Two countries are to make it to the next African Cup of Nations which was scheduled to be held in Morocco, but due to the Ebola disease, the tournament is in trouble over who hosts.
Ghana's next game is in November and the Black Stars will play again in Tamale following the massive support they enjoyed against Guinea.
GNPC has sponsored the national team after Goldfields packed off, and they have really supported the team. The company has also become popular after associating with the Black Stars.
GNPC was established as a State-owned entity to operate on a commercial basis. The corporation was given legal backing through two main statutes i.e. PNDC Laws 64 and 84. The corporation’s vision is to become a leading global oil and gas company, whose operations have a profound impact on the quality of life of the people of Ghana.
